Setting up hundreds of Bio-Gas plants in rural villages has a prominent position among the rural empowerment programmes undertaken by BDS in dairy sector and also in mitigating environmental hazards. The programme helped in production of natural fertilizer, ensuring cooking gas for agrarian households and in ensuring additional income in the milk sector. Till now 641 Bio – Gas plants have been set up by BDS . Now two models, one the Deena Bandhu Model using bricks and other the K.V.I.C Model, are being constructed.
