The Wayanad District Administration, Dairy Development Department, and Dairy Farmers’ Associations had conducted a joint study during 1996-98 and submitted the project report on the necessity to launch a project like Brahmagiri, to the State Government. Following the unanimous approval of the report by the Legislature, BDS formed according to Government Order (MS) 97/99 / A.D. BDS is registered under the Societies Registration Act-1860.
