Brahmagiri Wayanad Coffee is a modern co-operative farming scheme aimed at doubling the income of coffee farmers in Wayanad. The objective of the scheme is to start enterprises through farmers’ associations by eliminating intermediaries and to generate additional income for farmers and workers through procurement, processing and distribution.

All the coffee plantations in Wayanad will become sustainable in three to five years. Through micro-irrigation schemes, farm planning and carbon neutral Wayanad schemes, all farmers will be able to achieve organic certification status and become self-sufficient in the manufacturing sector. The project is being implemented with the support of the Coffee Board. The Brahmagiri Coffee Division will work for quality assurance, coffee procurement, quality control, distribution of planting material and awareness activities. Coffee growers’ federations have been formed to coordinate activities at the district and gram panchayat levels. Coffee Production Unit and Coffee Quality Assessment Lab have been set up at Kaniyampatta, Wayanad.

Products

Robusta Coffee Beans
We provide high quality Wayanad Robusta being one of the few origins that can produce best Espresso Coffee in the world. Wayanad Robusta Coffee which is grown under unique elevation and shade possess very unique aroma and flavour and hence has its own reputation. Wayanad Robusta are known for being softish to neutral in cup, full-bodied, with a very intense aroma and a
hint of chocolate. Wayanad Robusta variety is most suitable for blending with Arabica and used for preparing Espresso coffee. It enhances the richness and longevity of the Espresso blend’s crema without detracting from the flavour.

Arabica Coffee Beans
Despite containing less caffeine than Robusta, Arabica beans are often considered superior in taste. Arabica tends to have a smoother, sweeter taste, with flavour notes of chocolate and sugar. They often also have hints of fruits or berries. Brahmagiri collects Arabica coffee directly from farmers who are members of Brahmagiri Coffee federation in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.
