Gramasree Self Help Group
In total 302 Gramasree SHGs have been registered under Brahmagiri Development Society in 5 zones of Mananthavadi, Kalpetta, Poothadi, Pulppalli and Sulthan Bathery. Among them more than 80 SHGs are performing well. It is for the first time in the state Self Help Groups for Dairy farmers were formed. The cumulative investment of these groups is Rs.45 lakhs. These SHGs have taken up various socio - economic programmes in the rural villages of Wayanad district. An amount of Rs.7 Lakhs was provided as revolving fund for 38 SHGs.
During the report period 40 new groups have been formed making the total to 206 registered under Brahmagiri Development Society. It is the first time in the state where Self Help Group for Dairy farmers were formed and these groups are performing well. They have an investment of Rs.45 lakhs. Self Help Groups have taken up various socio - economic programmes. Rs.7 Lakhs was given as revolving fund for 38 SHGs apart from cattle rearing and meat production works, SHGs have also taken up various socio-economic programmes.
